There's a ton of thieves out there on all sites, and it's not just cars. It's a shame but you really can't trust anyone.

My son located a great deal on a Kubota tractor and some equipment on Craig's list. It was located at a remote  small ranch nearly 70 miles from Austin, Nevada on a dirt road. We were a bit nervous being out there with $6.000 cash. We probably had half that much in arms and ammo realizing we were fairly vulnerable anywhere along that road. It turned out to be a great experience. The caretaker of the property was good guy from the Netherlands who comes once a year while the owner is away. Last year I met the owner less than a 1/2 mile from my place and we have become friends. You just never know. It's a great tractor too!

CL has been a crap shoot for me, both buying and selling
Selling is always full of tire kickers or extreme low ballers. Buying I have run across some weird twist scams, cars that are not there  or not what was advertised..."oh I didn't have a good picture so i got one off the internet" 😡

As with any media listing, you just have to be careful and go with your gut instinct.
