1933 Carburetor - Carter?
« on: November 27, 2014, 08:27:25 AM »
I'm trying to get ready to bring my 1933 master coupe home.  I took some pictures to see what I would need.  From this picture it seems obvious that I'll need to rebuild or replace the current carburetor.  A few questions...

1. What was the original carburetor on a 1933 Master coupe?
2. Will a Carter W-1 work as a direct replacement?
3. What is the best option for this engine?

This engine hasn't been started in 7 years so I thought that I need to work on the carb, fuel lines, filter, and gas tank first.  Then attack the electrical.  Any other thoughts on this would be great.  (link the nearby gas tank thread)

Happy Thanksgiving,
Ron

Ron,
You said "my" 33!  Is it official?
Happy Thanksgiving!

Spending time with my grandkids gets in the way of finishing my car but I don't regret it!

I don't have the title in my hands but we have agreed to a price and talked about moving it to my house.  I told my wife and she took it much better than expected.  My Ebay auctions and website work have generated $2700 so I'm only $300 away.  So I've started calling it "my car".  I've even bought a 1933 hood ornament to remind myself to keep selling stuff and working hard to accomplish my goal.
