Title: Took on a project for trade
Post by: ghost28 on March 30, 2013, 11:03:00 AM
A buddy needs to have a 58 ford roof panel installed in his 1930 model A and offered me his muncie 4 speed and hurst competition shifter in trade for the work just weld it in and grind it clean.  I said yes.. Its gonna be a pretty cool little hotrod running a 5 speed behind a 354 hemi along with a nine inch ford axle. His long range plans are a supercharger with twin 4 barrels. It ought to run pretty good. What do ya think?    John

Cool ride! Lotta motor in that little car!!!  Should be a fun ride.  Sounds like a good trade for the trans.  You're a few parts closer now :)  Tom

Very nice! That motor looks HUGE between those frame rails.

I would say that's a good trade off. Trading labor for parts,
Cool looking ride..

Oh yeah. I like to trade if possible, especially when it's good for both partys involved. I did get the roof panel cut to size for the most part on the model A and now it's on to the precission fit and weld it up. Have a look

It's all done and back to the owner as of sunday afternoon.  Now I'm gonna take on a 33 plymouth 4 door sedan for a guy. It will be mildly hot rodded, mostly a good quality driver. I'll keep ya informed....John

Looks like it turned out great John and better yet you're now the proud owner of a Muncie trans with a Hurst!

Nice work, wish my roof was not just flat. It was already started when I got the car.
