billy...That's a cool old Ford tractor. There are a few in my area with the flathead V8 conversion and a couple of guys managed to install SBC engines to run in the modified classes at the tractor pulls. There are plenty of the old Fords still around going relatively cheap. Is that gonna be your next project????

I bet it's loud! There was an outfit called Funk that made V8 and straight six conversions for the 8N Fords. We had one with a flathead 6. It had a cast piece to extend the hood to make room for the extra cylinders. It was a huge improvement over the 24 horse 4 cylinder. It also had the high and low range box. It was a serious work horse.

A guy down here built an old tractor up a few years back, with a SBC, and a SBF in it. I think the Ford was in the front. If anyone wants to see it, Google Muscle Car Madness, down here in New Zealand. Its amoungst the pics somewhere.
