Ed,

I want to see yours when you finish.  I have found that the leather will stretch, but hopefully it will settle in.

Munch    Let me say they look really nice, I really like them, where did you get your hardware?

Thank you sir, I got the setup from Hot Rod Leather, but there is also a link below for Strapworks that may have some hardware.  I got mine in the bare leather because I was going to make some additional loops and then treated all with neatsfoot oil.

Good luck...

Munch   I'm thinking of doing the same on my 32, I was thing of using 1/4 turn fasteners. You can find the on Speedways website part # 91007111. This will let you see what I'm talking about.
A pal of mine here has the Dzus type fasteners on his '48 Anglia.  I know it's not a Chevy, but the idea is still the same.  He can remove the hood and side panels separately.  The only thing I don't care for there is that his entire hood removes, as well as the side panels...and I have to wonder how long it will be before he scratches up his expensive paint.  The other concern I have is what if you need to get under the hood quickly for an emergency of any kind?  It takes a minute or so to remove all the fasteners.
Of course, if you leave the sides open you have access instantly.
