If you had only one wish
« on: May 20, 2014, 08:41:38 PM »
If someone told you that you would be granted one wish for any new piece of equipment for you shop that you wanted what would it be? Personally mine would be for a nice compact CNC machine. Imagine the possibilities......  I'd probably not be seen outside the shop for weeks. What would be your piece of dream equipment?

Mine would be an English Wheel.  I'd love to play with one to see what I could come up with.  I was reading the article in last months Street Rodder about the bench top one from Eastwood.  It got a pretty good review for what it is.  Just imagine the cool panels I could come up with.

Spending time with my grandkids gets in the way of finishing my car but I don't regret it!

Of all the oddball things, I think I would like a car hoist.  That would be the handiest thing.  Shame the garage roof is too low.  So maybe exchange that idea for the English wheel as well.

Time, patience, and a plasma cutter. I guess that's 3 but any would be great.

Is all the above one wish?  If not, trbomax's 22yr old maintanance item would  be nice. I'm guessing made in the USA, but I didn't see it listed in the Eastwood catalog.lol

Actually, I've always wanted an english wheel. Never had one of those.

I like the way Turbo thinks an extra set of hands would be great but I think I would like to have a lift.

If they were out of stock on the English Wheel I'd take a Water Jet or CNC Plasma Cutter :)  I'll have to forward this to my wife for my birthday and Christmas list!

A high end automotive tubing bender. This way I could build my own complete tube chassis.

I would wish to be able to properly service Tom's new maintenance equipment but if he is overly possessive I'd like a louver press. ::)

I am with Ghost, a quality tubing bender. No more pie cuts, bending and welding those cuts :)
Tighten it up til it strips, then back it off a quarter turn

Definately a hoist, I'm 6-4" and everything I build is as low to the ground as possible. A hoist would make things a lot easier.
