Title: Wanted 34 Chevy grille emblem <any condition>
Post by: EDNY on August 25, 2020, 05:52:54 PM
Shot in the dark.....Building a wall hanger grille shell and would like a 34 Chevy grille emblem..or something that looks like one about 6" long...a beat up one is fine.

(May just do a plaster cast of my 34 Chevy emblem and make a fiberglass replica as a last resort...just don't feel like taking it off ;D ;D

Ed these show up on eBay from time to time! Here’s one I found on eBay link:

I have a lot of 34 Chevrolet spare parts but only have this one on my 34 Chevrolet Roadster! RoarsRods

Filling Station has them, but they're a little pricey...$70.

Thanks guys....I may just make a mold since the prop I'm making is a mix of parts anyway.

Couldn't remove the emblem off my 34 easily...so I just made a crude mold with auto body filler on the car. Used fiberglass to cast the emblem.

This is a fiberglass 34 grille that I have had for years and would never use on a car, those are 36 Chevy truck headlights I had in the pile.  Went to my local metal salvage yard and located one of those old "large" satellite dishes and removed some of the aluminum screening to use as grille material.  Made the grille frame out of 1/4" round steel then stretched the screen on the frame.  Not having any chrome trim...I sprayed the border with chrome color paint and used flat black in the center.  Had that old "hotrod" trim piece on my garage wall for years also.

At the local dollar store I grabbed a black place mat to simulate a radiator behind the grille.  Had a single 1933 NY plate (among my double sets) and mounted it.

Gave it to my son for his garage.
