I've been busy removing stock Mustang II controls arms  from my 38 and installing tubular arms. Everything is ready to be installed and I was wonder what the correct length the coil springs should be or if there is a rule of thumb that is used to get them close to the correct length. If your using this type of set up what length spring and weight did you use?

I have a Heidts  cross member with tubular arms I don't know if they will be the same are not but it wouldn't hurt to know. Thank you.

What was in the car measures 12.5" in length and the ride was good. I'm just curious to see if the tubular arms would change the length of the spring or would be the same as what the stock arms called for.

Dont know if this will help...or if you already know this but trying to get you lower control arms parallel to the ground with full weight on the chassis is a good starting point

The problem is in the stop of the lower arms. The Mustang II front end uses the shocks as it's limiting travel stop in the downward travel. What is happening with mine is the shock hits the lower control arm and puts a dent in the shock tube when the car is raised and suspension is at full lower travel.
