Title: Power Brake Setup article Hot Rod magazine
Post by: EDNY on September 20, 2013, 12:10:11 PM
There is a really helpful article in the 11/13 HotRod magazine P. 140 (blue 69 Camaro on cover).  Discusses vacuum, brake pedal/booster adjustment and proper front to rear brake pressure (psi) numbers and adjustments.

The article was on a Plymouth Arrow with a 360 engine and brake component swaps...but will help setting up a hot rod.

I try to put power brakes on all my projects. I had a buddy that in his model a coupe without power brakes, and in panic situations all he could do was stomp the pedal and yell whoooa nelly. When he passed he willed it to his long  time girlfriend who finally had power brakes installed and it's not so scary to drive now.

The article is informative..describes what vacuum numbers you need at booster, booster vacuum directional valves, ignition timing for vacuum and adjusting correct brake pressure numbers at the rear and front wheels via a proportioning valve to prevent front or rear brake lockup.
