After replacing the carb o my 84 blazer it ran a whole lot better, but every once in awhile I think the module would heat up in the distributor. I opened it up to find out which one I needed 4 promg or five prong, and discovered the weights had oblong holes worn in them. I replaced them and it even ran better, but the module seemed to heat up still so I replaced it and it ran even worse, so I opened it up again and discoveered the weights had overlapped them selves when I put it back together. That fixed with all the other crap, it runs great. hence I should have replaced the distributor in the first place. 240.000 miles on it. especially when you have to climb inside the engine bay to work on it.

 I spent a day and a half replacing the starter on my '99 Yukon. One of the bolts had broken and the other was lose enough to let the starter move. Getting the broken bolt out took a while. Tranny lines and a brace made it hard to get to. As luck would have it I was in the local bar parking lot and my buddy came to help, or drink, I couldn't really tell. The snow wasn't a big deal but the wind was pretty chilly. The story about the ant and the grasshopper kept running through my head. The grasshopper looked a lot like me except he was sober. Thank God for reversible electric drills that don't have knuckle busting torque and left hand bits. It's all better now. Merry Christmas!
