Title: Harmonic balancer
Post by: munch on February 03, 2022, 07:57:52 PM
Just installed the harmonic balancer on my replacement 5.3 and made the required 240 lb. torque but that is it. As seen in the picture, I still have a hair more than 1/16 gap. Do you guys think I'll be fine? It is a new remanufactured motor and I don't want to break anything.

Proof is in alignment.  What I would do is mount the alternator and power steering pump, then mount the belt.  If all aligns then you are good to go.

Did you use a harmonic balancer installation tool? Usually you will feel the pulley bottom out if you used a tool, or do you not use one on the Vortec?
