Title: What is this .
Post by: 28chevyguy on May 12, 2020, 03:29:06 PM
any idea what this is ?  I got it with a 1929 auburn a few years ago .

It says perma-view on the chrome inside ,  layer of glass on front and back , looks like It comes apart if desired.

I original though for an old taxi ??? I have no idea really and don't see anywhere it would mount to anything.

very interesting piece........what is it ??   Doesn't mount too , looks like it mounts INTO something.

Could spend a lifetime trying to find a purpose to it.  Question is how do you even advertise it..........as a  ?????

First thing I thought of was an old automat coin op door/window, popular in the 40s 50s. So you could see your food choise. Also looked like an old oven door window.

My guess would be oven window, but they may have produced the chrome and glass window for the automat doors too?
A little looking...Herbert E. Mills opened up a oven door window company after WW2 called Mills Engineering, later Mills Products. They manufactured mainly Perma-view oven windows ;)

Best I can come up with anyway ;D
