Title: Local projects
Post by: sammons on April 07, 2023, 10:44:37 AM
Stopped at the shop last week to check on my buddy Tom's '58 LCF Chevy truck. He has removed about 3' from the rear of the wheat box, replacing all lighting with led's, has his new wire harness put together and tested ready to install. He was building a new headache rack, (made from 2" x 6" box tubing,  1/4" diamond plate, and expanded metal backglass protector) with a reciver for 12,000 lb wench built in. Don't know if i mentioned his 327 went down last year so he had to go ahead and install his fresh built 350. He was planning to do that during the big chassis upgrade he has on a parts frame.

Stopped by my friend Dale's place to see what he was building. The 32 plymouth/dodge p.u. is on hold while he builds some more ratrods to sell to fund. He was putting together a '34 chevy p.u. cab rat rod, ford 302🙄. But hey, he uses what he has.🙃

Talked Tom into driving me over to the Vet to get dog vaccines yesterday. I seen Shanes  shop door open so dropped over the when we got back. He's just getting the small stuff lined out on a '49 Chevy short bed build. 5.3 and auto trans,(4L60 i think he said). Believe  chassis is S10. Nice little pick up.

Tom's '58 headache rack and new tool boxes installed.

Dosen't look like much going on the site last couple days, so.... more ugly truck pics😁

Tom got the bedsides cutdown and the front corner pieces cut/flanged. He welded nuts in the headache rack for easy bolt/unbolt. I think the 3 foot shorter bed looks much better.

Before length, after length.
