Happy 4TH! God Bless America! Just hope the Independence Celebrants don't burn down the neighborhood. Every year more immigrants from liberal states move here. It takes them a while to understand what "DRY" really is. Like when kicking a rock can start a wildfire. :o

Sitting out on our lawn watching the fireworks it as neat thinking that about 250 years ago British troops marched up and down our roads before 1776 while attempting to control our early Americans. This area (Champlain, NY) was actually a part of Canada around the same time. I found an old ground structure out back on my 60 acre property on the side of hill that could be a grave site...the small rocks and mortar shape are about 3x6 and have been there a very long time.
The Richelieu River feeding Lake Champlain is just a short distance away and is also rich with history. It was the water route from Canada to New York and has fortifications along the route.
