Does anyone have a diagram of the parts required to put the windshield in. The tracks on the A pillars. Also the wiper motor, because of the windshield regulator I don't think I can use a wiper motor from speedway.
Any ideas?
Thanks Mike

Im gonna be tackling this in the next few months. I have a pair of wiper motors that came off some sort of state truck (they're orange) . but I was gonna make an adapter to make one work and have the other as a spare .
The motors don't rotate fully so I think it will work .

I don't know how much this will help you but this is what's in the Fisher body manual for a 32 Chevy

Don't think I'm cheap but after thinking about it - my 34 (3) window coupe has a manual wiper with knob on the inside. I plan to buy another "manual" wiper setup from Speedway for my 33 (5) window chopped coupe.
If it's raining....most likely won't be driving anyway. If I must drive in the rain.. RAIN-X should do the trick.
That's just me..

Hey thanks Moose!
Lots of good info. I think I have most of the parts.
It's good to know that the side rails are glued in. I'm starting to get the idea of how it's going to work.
The wiper system was total junk with no salvageable parts. I do wish I had kept it to know what I'm looking for though.
I need to get some of the 3-M dumb dumb for when I do put it together.

ebay had a Trico wiper repair kit for a 32 for sale awhile back and the guy posted these pictures of the assembly. As I recall that's about all that my car had for brackets and linkage. Maybe you can get a better idea of what you need.

That looks like what I need. And the part that the blade mounts to.
-
Hey Moose are these the windshield run channels they talked about in your text?
Do they look familiar to you?
Thanks. Mike
-
Look into the a new cable driven setup, they are not cheap.
-
Hey 32 Chevy, I have been looking at them. It does look like a good way to go. But that's a lot of cabbage for 1 wiper
I'm not planning on using it so much because my car looks like it won't be very water tight. I'm planning on avoiding rain. Also I'm a big fan of rain X.
But I don't want to weld the hole shut either.

Mike
I think those parts are for the big open cars.
My run channels are made out of hard rubber that is tacked to the wood on each side of the windshield pillars..Take a look at the attached picture. I think I got them from Steele Rubber but I don't know if they still have them.

Hey Moose, thanks. I'll get it figured out yet, you have been a great help.
It's a lot easier when you take the car apart yourself. Mine wasn't a basket case but more of a ""3 garbage can case".
-
Hope I'm not hijacking the thread but, when I got my car all of the windshield assembly mechanism and trim was gone. So, I secured the windshield in with butyl tape and it is now stationary. Does anyone have any other ideas to finish off the outside trim around the windshield so it looks presentable?
-
Do you have any pictures? There is some window channel that has a lip that hangs over the opening that rubber company's stock. Maybe a option.
-
I ordered these today. They go on the sides of the windshield with glass setting tape.
-
Does anyone know where this goes? How?
-
I'd like to know how. Those work out for you. They sell the top channel as we'll? I bought a set of windshield rubber for my windshield from the filling station
-
I didn't see the top channel, I got mine from Glen Rarick in NY who is listed on this sight. He has a lot of parts.
I got the rubber from Steele coming and have had the windshield cut. When I got all the rest of the glass home I realized it was clear not green as the glass guy said it would be. So he's going to order in some special stuff that's even darker than EZ eye. I am excited about that.
-
Does anyone have windshield pattern or dimensions for the 32?

It might me this....It's the only thing that I can think of

I'm going to have to study that one. As they say a picture is worth a thousand words.
Thanks for digging it up. I'm excited about having the windshield work as designed.
32 Chevy. I do have a paper pattern for the windshield. What I have found out though is unless you have all the original parts it will be to narrow. The pattern could be extended a 1/2" or so on each side if you wanted to install it in a fixed position.
When you get to that point, pm me and I could fold it up and send you a copy.
-
Hey, I plan on using all the original parts and would love a copy.
-
PM me your address and I can send you a pattern.
