Title: Getting ready for Spring (body work)
Post by: EDNY on March 15, 2020, 01:52:01 PM
Poured a concrete floor in my barn a few months back with plans of installing a 2 post lift this year.  At the locations where the post columns will bolt I dug out 4'X4' sections and made the floor 10" thick. Have rebar and screen throughout the entire floor,  Picked up this Snapon lift in the meantime so I can start working on permanently mounting and fiber-glassing the running boards etc.   Need to work on all panel gaps.  The roof is chopped 2.5", body channeled and running boards lifted above the lower reveal line. Took a couple inches off the door bottoms and shaped them more like the Ford (curved) to match the running board lines.

Dewalt Grinders "Two pack is $99" at Lowes.  I just get sick of changing, wire and grinding grits.  Kids know what to buy me for XMAS! Plus when I  "get to grinding" I can let them cool off, usually burn one up every year.  Occasionally I drop one and of course it lands and cuts the friggin cord ;D

P.S I have another 4.5" battery operated grinder on the other wall..I also hate running extension cords all over the place to cut one bolt ;)

I think curving those doors to match the running boards was a great idea. It looks really nice.

Thanks..the bottoms were pretty rusted out to begin width....easier to shape than weld in a repair panel.

Lol, was just the no gaurd thing😁  To be honest, the first 4" Mikita i got (with gaurd in place) I put a cut off wheel on. Scared the crap out of me with the higher rpm. I only use for grind disc and flap discs. I use my little air with cut off wheel. Running around 90psi it turns fairly slow.

Always have my readers and face shield on. Wish i could use gloves, my crooked fingers won't go in🙂
