Yep!
-
Yeah, just shoot the gun out of their hand or wing 'em. Better yet send in the social workers because violent criminals really just need someone who understands them to talk to. :o
-
Now I know why when I read stories where cops shot at a suspect 21 times and didn't hit him...they were trying to hit him in the knee ;D ;D ;D ;D They aren't really bad shots after all!
-
no knock to crawling go figure
-
cops are aiming all wrong, no knees that means you got a welfare case for life.
Shoot them in the butt, where the criminal brains are.

At least if on welfare they won't be sitting on their ass for a while. ::) Shooting them in the knee will make them easier to catch next time. :o
Many years ago a group of "buck skinners" I belonged to put on a muzzle loading shooting match each year. The county sheriff's shooting team challenged us to a match. We fired first using our guns, muzzle loading rifle and cap and ball revolver, against their modern rifles and handguns. We won! Then we did a second round where we fired their modern weapons and they fired our black powder pieces. We won again. :) We asked if they wanted to do knives and tomahawks. ;D
One of my friends from that group was also a quick draw champ with live ammo. He could probably shoot the gun out of someone's hand, or shoot their hand off of their gun, but he wasn't the kind of guy you'd pin a badge on.

Police firearms training is nonexistent...we had an indoor range that could be used 24/7 even during the Winter months. GOVT closed it down to make more room for office and storage space. They just spent millions (MILLIONS) to build a new port of entry in Champlain, NY…no consideration at all for an indoor range (or outdoor) that could be used for all law enforcement agencies, including Canadian.
Our agency REQUIRED firearm qualification every 3 months but did not give us the range to qualify on. We would have to beg for range time on local privately owned ranges.
One quick story: We had an indoor range that failed OSHA ventilation standards, so we spent over 60K to install a new ventilation system, OSHA returned and said that the system passed but since it was so close…they shut it down again! So…it was converted into storage space instead.
OSHA was concerned with the ventilation being released into the environment even with filters! So we had to shoot again outdoors….think about it….now 100% was released outside.
Plus the lead was shot into the ground. With an indoor range the lead is reclaimed.
Law enforcement agencies spend a lot of time and money on feel good programs...but very little on firearms training.

last time i was thru the Queenston bridge, the USA was building a giant building backing onto the existing smaller building, apparently the government has gazillions of dollars for structures in NY state. i never go thru niagara falls or fort ERIE , buffalo, i guess they are spending like drunks there too.
Be easiest for government to buy time at club or private ranges. But that makes too much sense.
Question, for all your years on the force, how many times have you discharged your weapon in the line of duty ?????
How many times a year would you go to the range to just practice .

I am so glad I am retiring......and my son wants to be a cop :-\
-
have him apply up here, police start at $57G and get to $92G in 4 years. plus all medical is covered and less people with hand guns looking to blow you away.
will have to wait until the border re-opens maybe in new year

Mike, I have never discharged my weapon in the line of duty. I have had it out many, many times, pointed it at many people, never shot, or shot at anyone, thankfully. We have to go to the range and qualify once a year, that's the only time I go. However, my department's range is open every day to practice, they even give up ammo. I am a bit of a dinosaur, in that I still carry a revolver, and not to brag, but I am pretty good with it.....against a paper target, that is ;)
As far as my son goes, you can't become a Philly cop until you are 22, so I said finish college, then try federal law enforcement (FBI, Secret Service, etc), if that doesn't work out go local as a last resort.

Ed, this tells me all I need to know about Biden and his mental acuity. If you want to read something frightening, check out his tax proposals.

Hey Tom I've been retired for 10 years now and still cant believe it. Where does the time go :o
-
I had planned to wait until the end of the year but my two oldest grandkids are only in school on Mondays and Wednesdays. Rather than have them in expensive daycare I decided to move up my retirement so I could take care of their remote learning. On the days I don't have my grandkids I plan to get a lot of cleaning of my basement done. Lots of stuff to get done around the house. When I get caught up I hope to get some work done on the 33.

Sounds like a great plan, Tom. Good luck!!

Good luck guys with retirement! My Dad retired early at 50 years old from the P.O. Plus all his friends were dying off and he just wanted to live life building old cars! I retired 15 years ago at 49 years old and every day is Friday! Hey Tom you’re going to have to revise your profile account! Something like “Working to get all grandkids through school and then possibly get back on my 33 Chevrolet Cabriolet” LoL 😂
Just some thoughts! And possibly we could meet up next year at a cruise!

Yeah I was thinking I'll have to change my profile ;D Definitely have to meet sometime next year.

Myself I have decided to retire the end of February just didn't want to be cooped up all winter in the house, there's no heat or a/c in the garage yet, its coming tho

Trump about 33 years ago:

I think he was a better speaker then but he wasn't pissed off enough to run for President. He is pissed enough now because he's been pointing this stuff out for so long and no one but him would tackle the job. There is so much pressure on him now because he is fighting the battle almost alone as far as the media and other politicians of both major parties. He is doing an amazing job at keeping promises, more than anyone I can remember and I remember Truman. I hope he gets another 4 years, This time he won't have to think about re-election and maybe he can get some more judges in the Federal system.
I've been retired for 20 years and don't know how I ever had time to work. :o
-
Just think what he could accomplish if he was supported in his efforts Go Trump
