Title: I'll kill him next time
Post by: chopper526 on June 05, 2013, 04:07:06 PM
I just got the following text from my 11 year old son, just now, while I am at work. As I read it scrolling down, I was expecting the worst. You gotta love kids, I know he feels bad. Whatever it looks like I will deal with it........I'll kill him next time ;)

Dad, I am really really sorry, I didn't mean to, I just want to be honest and tell u the truth. Yesterday I was spray painting my unicycle (foolishly in front of the coupe) and I accidentally got a little bit of silver on the coupe. I'm REALLY REALLY SORRY.

Have you ever thought about painting it silver? You might like what you see.
You gotta like the honesty of him.

Okay since we are bragging...let me do a little hijacking  ;)

My –7- year old grandson  Connor drives my 34 Chevy by himself already. He loves anything with a motor on it. We picked up a used John Deere lawn tractor for him, ATV(s), and a  motorcycle. Doesn't have a mean bone in his body.

A couple weeks ago, his mother and friends traveled down to a theme park around Queensbury, NY in two cars.  The lady in the other car left her lights on and killed the battery, the car wouldn't start.  My daughter in law said she had jumper cables but didn't know how to connect them

My grandson Connor said "Mom ..I can do it"  Just attach the red cable to the red post and the black cable to the black posts etc.  She began attaching the cables when Connor pointed out that she needed to remove the red protective post cover first.  They then attached the cables and it still wouldn't start..he told them to let the car run with the cables attached so it could charge for a few minutes.  Then after a short wait..he reached in and started the car!

After removing the cables..he told the young lady to drive straight thru to Plattsburgh without stopping and shutting the car off in case the battery wasn't fully charged!!!

They asked him where he learned to jump cars; he said  "Papa showed me"!

That's my boy!

To "un-hijack" the thread...were you able to rub off the extra paint?

Ed, that's a great story. The next Mr. Goodwrench!!

When I got home I saw it was just a little splatter on the gas tank cover, no real harm. And, since the car is in black primer I'll just spray over it.

I explained to him the importance of spray painting outside where it is well vetilated and to spray in an area where paint can't get on things that you don't want painted (car, house, dog).
Then, most importantly, I told him not to waste my good spray paint and if he ever messes up my car again I would skin him alive......Just kidding ;D

Chopper, good lesson fr him to learn.  I'm sure he'll think twice before he paints again.
Ed, Cool story, at least someone is listening to you!
