If you were alive in 1957, and old enough to enjoy Rock and Roll, you will remember the group, "The Diamonds" who had just launched their super hit "Little Darlin' ". For you who are too young to remember - it was a time when the performers were happy, enjoying themselves, respecting their fans, dressed appropriately and their lyrics could be understood.
In 1957, The Diamonds had a hit with "Little Darlin." 47 years later, they were requested to perform at Atlantic City ....this link leads to both performances. Watch the first one, then the new one 47 years later.
Tom Hank’s father is much better looking than Tom, and even better looking with age. In the linked videos Tom Hank's father, who is the Lead Singer of The Diamonds, is on the left. He still has it and in the 1957 version, you can see the resemblance between father and son! EDNY, Thanks! I was only 12 then but my brother was 17 and he got to use the family car more if he took me along. I went to malt shops and drag races with him and his friends as sort of a mascot. The next summer ,'58, h e and I took his 1939 Ford coupe from Texas To California, a road trip with lots of automotive adventure. We had tools and the knowhow. 8)

What a difference from today..You'll never see one of today's singing groups 47 years later in fact you'll be lucky to see them 6 months later.

WOW, that was great Ed, thanks. I didn't know Tom Hanks' dad was a member of the Diamonds......then I read the rest of the posts. Lead singer was a guy named Somerville, he passed away in 2015.
