Couldn't remove the emblem off my 34 easily...so I just made a crude mold with auto body filler on the car. Used fiberglass to cast the emblem.
This is a fiberglass 34 grille that I have had for years and would never use on a car, those are 36 Chevy truck headlights I had in the pile. Went to my local metal salvage yard and located one of those old "large" satellite dishes and removed some of the aluminum screening to use as grille material. Made the grille frame out of 1/4" round steel then stretched the screen on the frame. Not having any chrome trim...I sprayed the border with chrome color paint and used flat black in the center. Had that old "hotrod" trim piece on my garage wall for years also.
At the local dollar store I grabbed a black place mat to simulate a radiator behind the grille. Had a single 1933 NY plate (among my double sets) and mounted it.
Gave it to my son for his garage.
