Title: Another one of my toys
Post by: themoose on June 22, 2013, 07:13:18 PM
Unlike you guys who have roadsters when I want to feel the wind in my face I have to take a ride on one of my other toys. It's a 1976 FXE Superglide that I bought new and like every thing else that I've owned over the years it has gotten its share of modifications. The paint is original and the engine has never been apart but almost everything else has been "Fine Tuned". Had a rare perfect day here in Connecticut and I couldn't resist taking it for a good long ride. It's still great fun....Some thing never get old.

Looks like a low and steady ride.  Color matches the 32!

Moose...very clean kicker! I owned two 79 FXE's.  Welded on a hardtail on my last one. Over a year ago I was selling one of my trucks and the guy spotted this 79 FXE in my garage..made an offer and drove off with it instead!

Always have my eyes open for old shovel projects...like building them a bit more than driving them.

Mmmm Mmmm. Those are some nice bikes! I am still licenced, but I don't dare ride one just yet. Hey Ed I found an old shovel in my back yard the other day. I think the neighbor threw it over the fence, so I put it in the shed. HE HE

Nice bikes, you guys. I had a couple small bikes when I was single. My wife doesn't stop me from doing too much, but when I mentioned another bike I got the big finger wave....NO.

I got my motorcycle license on my 16th birthday before I had a driver's license.  Still have it today but too many Boston drivers have made their way up into southern New Hampshire making me fear for my life so I don't ride any more.  My wife would give me the same warning as Choppers if I said I was considering a bike ;D

Moose, just noticed the art work on the tank, what is it (Pic please)?

Tom

I know what you mean about the "Crazies" on the road. I live in a pretty rural area and the traffic isn't too bad during the week but on weekends forget it..... It's like someone declared open season on bikers.
The artwork on the tank is a representation of an  eagle with a banner that displays the year of the bike done with pinstripes. I did it about 3 years after I got bike when I was practicing my pin striping skills and everyone who saw it liked it so I left it on. 1976 was the U.S bicentennial and Harley likes to display the eagle so I thought I fit the bike.
