Nice work Rattiac!  You'll be cruising around real soon!

Thanks.

Today me and a neighbor did an alignment.
I set it at 1/8" toe in and centered  the steering wheel.
Did another test drive. Drove even better.

I had a guy cut me out some circles 1/4" thick so I can fill the holes in the frame.
Got those burned in tonight. One step closer to putting the fender back on.

Yesterday I got the frame holes all smoothed out and got the fender, marker light ,and headlight back on.
Today I drove it to the alignment shop (kind of scary).
It was just a tiny bit off , plus we adjusted the steering box . Drove alot better but.... These bias plys has got to go. Im sure radials will make a huge difference.
Also washed out the engine bay.  8)

Haven't done much the last few weeks. Just been getting used to the new steering box. Went to a carshow or two.

How are you liking that new steering box?  Does she track nice and straight?

So far I like it. Alot easier to steer, especially when low speed entering parking spots, ect. No more tired arms  ;D  . Almost like power steering.

The tires still grab lines in the road . I need to do some burnouts , so I can switch to a set of radials I have sitting here in the shop.

Once my fuel issue is taken care of, I'll start getting the receiver done to pull the teardrop. Hopefully by Labor Day.

Rattiac i'm glad all that worked out well for you!  I believe as much money they get out of those bias plys, i'd sell them.  Keep at it man, before long it will be a pleasure to drive. ;)

Thanks.
Im not sure if those would sell here. They were bought new in the early 90's from Sears for a 46 Chevy that spent more time sitting than anything. I bought em for $80 and they are showing some slight cracking even though the treads are barely worn . He put just over 2,000 miles on them and I have hit 1,400 miles recently. So I think it would be best to send them to tire heaven in a cloud of smoke.  8)

Plus I like pissing off my one  "rental" neighbor.  ;D

Haha, smoke away. I hope they squeal to!   I've been on the same property since '82, there was a rental property across the street. I put up with different come and go renters, always complaining about every little thing for 4yrs. If I seen them showing the place, I would crank the stereo all the way and jump in the car and leave rubber.  Some just left.  The ones that stayed with all that right up front were real good! ;D

Trailer hitch done.
This seemed the best way to keep it from twisting and help reinforce the mounting was to tie it in to the spare tire bracket. From what I remember that had a strong mount.
Spare tire is moved up 2" .

Now I just have to wire up a trailer harness and flip the ball.

The hitch looks good, and period correct. I put one on the roadster that is hidden behind the plate. You never know when you might want to haul a small trailor or even one of those slide in carriers. Good job

Thanks. Maybe tomorrow I can test tow my teardrop.
I also put the right stage8 locking header bolts on and I put on a new shifter knob on.
50 rodders points go to whoever guesses where the knob comes from.  ;D
