Post by: EDNY on June 08, 2015, 05:58:18 PM
Just watching TV and the subject of "steampunk" came up...never heard of the term before...but after looking it up... ie mixing of old technology with modern purely for looks it sounds more like "ratrod" to me?

Well I now know another word....

Here's a definition:  Steampunk refers to a subgenre of science fiction and sometimes fantasy that incorporates technology and aesthetic designs inspired by 19th-century industrial steam-powered machinery.

I have heard of it before. There is a group that even dresses the part, and has parties, some of them even look robotic with all the gizmos they put together on there outfits.

There is a group that gets together in Virginia City. Mostly young twenties seems to be mostly about last half or the of the 19th century with a big dose of whimsey. It can include vehicles from bicycles, motorcycles, cars, to.... More about funk than fast.

I looked it up and what I seen reminded me of the creature in the movie Predator.

Bit late replying, Bio mech is artwork that's basically a mix of flesh and machinery.

A Swiss guy, H. R. Gieger was the main man behind it all, he designed the original alien in the movie, Alien.

I became interested in it, due to it appealing to my
mechanical side.
Over the years, I've devoloped my own style, which is constantly being upgraded.

Hey...let's see it! I saw some neat pictures of "Firearm Steampunk" that looked pretty neat wouldn't mind seeing some bio mech.

Lol, nothing wrong with stick drawings.
Here's a couple of mine I dug out. Older drawings, my later stuff ends up in the skin, not sure if I should show them ones.  ;)

You really need an imagination to connect the dots on those drawings. Reminds me of when I was younger and the "paisley pattern" was very popular for clothing etc.
