Title: Changes to Pay Pal agreement
Post by: sixball on October 01, 2022, 12:20:13 AM
I just received a notice of changes to my Pay Pal agreement. No more Guns or Ammo! A violation could cost $2,500!

I got the same notice. I really was ok, for the most part, with this until I got to the ammunition/gun stuff. Now I don't like any of it, this is just a first step.

I'm looking for an alternative. It is too easy to just toss but I'm not sure I want to support someone who thinks they can tell me what I can spend my money on and fine me $2500 if I din't do what they say.

This takes effect in November. It is not specific about parts but assume it will cover everything black, unfinished, quiet, or over 10 rounds.

My problem here is that this has nothing to do with the law. There are laws covering what & how these items can be purchased online. This is even separate from the many woke companies, including most credit card companies, that have decided to create a new category of sales to collect information that the Government is not allowed to collect & keep and then share it with the Government. This is a company saying they will fine you $2500 if you use their service to buy a legal product they don't want you ti have.

Here's another change:

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/venmo-paypal-zelle-must-report-600-transactions-irs-rcna11260

If a relative loans you $600 via Paypal...it's reported as income to the IRS. They may say non business transactions don't apply but I already experienced this...returned the money from a Canadian friend that wanted me to pay his vehicle transport fee for him here in the US.

All as Biden hires 87,000 more IRS agents TO HELP US!

Anyone that votes for a Democrat should be deported ;D

I have been looking for alternatives to Pay Pal & eBay who owns them. There are not a lot of good choices for buyers except that credit card purchases are safer. A problem is that eBay has pushed the sellers to only accept Pay Pal. I also learned that you should not connect your bank account to Pay Pal. If you do and there is an issue with them they can freeze your account & possibly take what they think is theirs.

I have not been able to find out if ALL purchases with my Pay Pal Extras MasterCard fall under the Pay Pal terms of use. That is the only credit card I have that is in my name only. I may replace it is I can find a card that is not woke.

I'll probably be shutting down my account after a few car parts are paid for.  >:(

I've enacted a policy of my own.  No recoveries for any burden supporters.
