Ed... that was a great video. As Luke said,not many people realize that Chevrolet had a V8 before 1955. The first V8 was actually released in 1917 and was only made for 2 years. It had 288 cubic inches and developed a whopping 55 horsepower at 2,700 rpm. Thanks for posting. I'll have to do some research to see how the race went.

Knowing that little bit won me a "whole bottle of car wash" at a car show once. The guy on stage was throwing out trivia questions for prizes...when he asked "when did Chevy come out with their first V8?" The crowd started spitting out "1955"..they thought I was crazy when I said "1917"...he confirmed my answer.
