Title: 1936 original RH stand weight?
Post by: Coley on March 08, 2017, 11:34:40 PM
I sold a new 1936 sedan RH stand to a fellow in California and he wants to return it because it weighs more than  an original stand.
My new stands weigh just under 2 lbs.  Does anyone have an original stand, off their car, that could weigh it for me?  I need to find out that weight.
An original stand has a wall thickness of .020 to .030 and mine are .125 approx.
To match the GM part would take a $60,000+.die cast mold.

I really don't think the weight is the reason for the return.  I have made Chevy parts for over 35 years and never had one complaint about weight.
Thanks in advance for any help.....
