Title: Rear mounted sway bar for Mustang II IFS ?
Post by: EDNY on November 24, 2014, 03:55:03 PM
My buddy just installed a Mustang II IFS in his 39 Chevy sedan with BBC. He would like to install a sway bar and prefers that it mount on the rear of the IFS. His power rack is mounted up front which leaves more room in the back for a sway bar that won't interfere with tie rod ends, rack etc.

Heidt's makes a rear mounted sway bar set up for their IFS kits...but don't sell the sway bar separately.

Any sources out there for a rear mounted sway bar? The Heights bar actually attached to the lower control arm shock mounting bolt.

I've got a front mounted sway on my 38 with a Heidt's cross member IFS set up with plenty of room. Is he running tubular a-arms or stock ones?

Ed,
I have a Total Cost Involved front end.  It's a rear steer but has a a rear mounted sway bar.  Here's a few pics.  It's painted black and hard to see it's between the rack and brake line.  It mounts to the lower coil over mount.

Kugel Komponents was the first one to offer the sway bar on their IFS system. before HEIGHT  Early ones mounted to the front and later to the rear.

Contact JEFF at kugel and ask him if they will sell you one with pillow blocks that heights will not.  Its about 5/8" round I think.
