'57 3 on tree to floor shifter conversion question

Stopped by my buddies car lot and found this one in his classic car parts pile.  It's a universal fit with 18" shift lever. The chrome should clean up some, and the rust would need a wire wheel or molasses bath.  It's free if you want it..just pick up the shipping.
