Make your own soda blaster
themoose:
If you ever tried to restore a vintage carburetor like the good old 97 you already know the that its a tough job to get it to look like new. There are all sorts of chemical cleaners out there that claim to do the job but only give mediocre results at best. One of the best ways to get the job done is to soda blast the carb bodies. This process can be used on most any zink or aluminum casting to bring it back to like new appearance. If you want to give it a try you can build your own soda blaster on the cheap and it's not at all complicated. Here are the instructions that I got from a site that's dedicated to air cooled engines written by Nate @ aircooledtech. Give it a try....It works great!

Moose,
That's pretty cool. I'll have to try it and pass it along to some of my friends. Thanks for posting.
