It's been that cold here and no storms.  Went out for a few hours today,  did some fitting,  had to get a few things out of the way like fuel line and the rods to the "ride control" system.  Still one stubborn bolt to remove.  I let it soak in PB and called it a day  .
Ran out of propane for the bazooka heater,  ran for about a half hour before dying.

Man i feel like a smuck, got a nice warm in floor heated garage and doing nothing. Turned it down to the lowest i've ever had it this year 68°. It's been set at 77° last 19yrs. Wish you were just across town, i have a warm place for you to work.

When i used dads garage while getting ready to build my house. He had a motel room ac/heat wall unit, no way would it maintain temp. Had to get kerosen for small space heater and 2 stand up house type kerosen heaters to keep it at 60. Stinking mess.

Haven't touched the car since November.  :-X
Had the torch bottles filled up.  Started hooking up the TV cable and trans cooler line's.
Looks like the cooler fittings are farther back than the th350. Had to do some bending to get em to thread in.  Looks kinda ugly so I'll order another set.
For now I can torch the old crossmember out and weld up the new one.  I think I'll make it bolt on just incase it needs to come out one day.  I doubt it but...

Why is a dog a man's best friend?

Lock your dog & your wife in your shop for a week and see which one is happy to see you when you open the door.  ::)

Is that a Labradoodle? I hear they are great dogs. Best dog I ever had followed me everywhere, even in the house. I would go to the bathroom and the dog would wait outside the door for me.
Tighten it up til it strips, then back it off a quarter turn

Looks like she grew a bit. Hopefully she'll be good around shop noises. My previous dogs were excellent around shop work, not even a flinch when the air hammer rattling away. Rowdy on the other hand, not a shop dog. He's fine till i plug in an air tool or start an electric tool.... he scoots off to the kitchen door desperatly wanting back in the house🥴

Pretty good security dog too.  One day I snuck in and she heard the door squeak .  Started barking a loud low bark then charged to the door.
At night you can't see her coming.  The gate got opened once.  I went to go find her thinking she ran away.  Nope just playing in the front yard like a little horse.

I acquired this old roof rack from a 30's car I worked on long ago.  I decided to see what it looked like.
Not sure what to think but it has wood slats 😎.
Im thinking it needs some modification.  Lower and maybe put a slight rake to it.
We'll see.  For now,  it sits.

Rattiac, did you get her shaved? I checked with my Vet years ago with my 2nd Golden to get shaved for summer. He said that they would not be any cooler but warmer with out the under coat. Maybe thats just on Golden Retrievers?

Mines no gaurd dog at all, he never met a stranger🙄

Cool roof rack, regaurdless of what you do with it.

I like the rack! It will come in handy.

Dogs? My pair are dealing with bees. I'll post the details on another thread.

I'm not sure I would like a roof tack on a 30's era car, just doesn't seem period correct just my opinion.

Rattiac, did you get her shaved?

Yeah,  just before our trip.  Wasn't sure how hot it was going to be.  She seems to like it.

While im waiting for a regulator to arrive.
I have most of the "ride control" system down (rods/levers) I decided to pull off what's on the firewall.  I did keep the pull knobs though on the column support.
If anyone is looking for this stuff for a full restoration let me know  ?

The transmission is finally sitting full weight on the new crossmember.
Needed to get familiar with the torch again before cutting.  Some practice.
Trying not to catch anything on fire 🔥.  Swept the floor,  fire extinguisher nearby , wetted down the floor and a small water bottle to keep flames down.
I was so dreading this. 😟
