Still looking for a trunk lid or a rumble seat lid for a 32 chevrolet roadster or coupe lave@cogeco.ca 1 613 548 4704

In the vintage Chevrolet club of America online chat.........VCCA CHAT, this particular conversation just took place.
The roadster rumble lid for 1932 only fits the roadster because the body was supplied to Chevrolet by "an outside supplier " Hercules Campbell ??? and the main body parts do not interchange with FISHER built closed car and cabriolets. The sizes are different and the curvature over the rumble lid is different.
The fisher body closed car, coupe, the rumble lid and the trunk lid maybe different and apparently according to the experts does not flip around to be used as either rumble or trunk.
Also I found out surprisingly about a year ago that chevrolet also produced 2 versions of the roadster.........the deluxe came with a rumble seat and the *standard* roadster came with a trunk .
I would advise advertising for free on the VCCA CHAT or the VCCA which produces a magazine monthly ??. Go to where there are people who most likely might have a spare to sell.
I need one for my 35 roadster and have already talked to FAWCETT motors here in whitby about English wheel rolling me one.

Because your car was built by GM here in Canada the open cars had a regular firewall plate , just like a FISHER BODY PLATE but the stamped in open car information is different and missing certain things. USA cars have their own special NON FISHER body plate that mounts on the floor or seat riser with nails.
If your USA source is Glen Rarick in NY , he knows all this and has even re-produced the open car floor riser tag, I got one from him. He would be your best source of a trunk lid or a rumble seat lid.
You seem to doubt my knowledge !!!! Let me assure you that the roadster body for 1932 was supplied to Chevrolet by an outside source ( Hercules-Campbell ) and nothing on the MAIN ROADSTER BODY interchanges with a Fisher built body.
Its possible the roadster for 32 that the rumble seat flipped around to become a trunk. I do not own one of these cars so I cannot say 100%. But I do know where to get the correct answers. Guy named PINKY RANDALL in Michigan is the definitive expert on 32 Chevrolets. I would suspect Glen Rarick would also be considered an expert.

My '32 was originally a rumble seat and the lid was flipped over for a trunk....just saying.

I sent (chevy heaven) an email and it got answered, doesn't have one for my roadster , but he did buy a pair of running boards at Hershey.
As far as your 32 chev roadster, rumble seat lid, asked him today on that, no reply yet.

You would have to take a cardstock pattern of the side of the rumble or trunk opening . Its the curvature top to bottom that has to be right.
They may look the same but you need to take a pattern and use that to see if it would work or remove the lid and try flipping it around.

He doesn't have a coupe ( fisher built body ) , he has a roadster ( body built by outside supplier ) and diff than fisher bodys.
No idea why title of post says coupe.
