Anybody following the O'brien family?  Now this is what it's all about, 50 day road trip. Wife, kids and a '59 Chevy wagon. Santa Barbra Ca. to Chicago, down to Florida along the gulf up through Branson, to KKOA Lead sled spect.in Salina and back to Ca. They stopped last night in Greensburg when a storm front came thru, I missed them this morn when the came thru here headed to Dodge City. That trip is really going to be a memory for them.  ;) truly seeing the U.S.A. in a Chevrolet. I wish them the best.

You can catch them on " surfcaliforniasurf " on the H.A.M.B. or on instagram #obriensgoingforbroke .
 Oh, and NO A/C! :o

Yes I've been checking all the updates.  Great thread and awesome memories!
Spending time with my grandkids gets in the way of finishing my car but I don't regret it!

Just got back today from a road trip to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.  Made it all the way out to Grand Forks North Dakota.  Will post pics later.  It was 3,616 miles round trip from Manchester New Hampshire in 8 days.  If you're wondering why the wife and I put on all those miles, we've traveled 44 out of the lower 48 states.  We needed to drive through Wisconsin, Minnesota and North Dakota.  Now that this trip is complete, the last state we need to travel to is Louisiana.  Guess we'll have to plan a trip to New Orleans to complete the lower 48 ;D

Tom those are some great photos. It looks like the second to the last photo has a shadow of a large shark going towards the guys in the kayak? I tried to warn them.

Nice pictures. That Studebaker wagon is a little older than my son's.

Tom, you should'a been a photographer! That picture of the Mackinaw hotel looks like the hotel from that movie with Christopher Reeve, "Somewhere In Time"
Tighten it up til it strips, then back it off a quarter turn

The bridge looks a lot like the Golden Gate but longer. I looked up some history on it, interesting.

Yes it's the fifth longest suspension bridge in the world and the longest in the western hemisphere.

Thanks Chopper!
