That is a sad story! Old neon is one of my favorite things, the best commercial art ever!

My favorite hood ornaments are those of the 30's Pontiac's with American Indian's especially in full headdress.

Ok, Why di I remember these things when I can't recall important stuff?

I remember sitting in a grade school history class where we were reading about Ottawa Chief Pontiac trying to capture Fort Detroit. It was in the 1760s so he was fighting the British. In the end he lost and was pushed to Illinois. A phrase from our history said,"The British drove Pontiac out of Michigan......". My friend yelled out, "Well lots of people have have done that!" We all cracked up and lost recess. :D

Oh that's a good story. I'm sure it was not worth losing recess, at that time, but now it's worth every minute.
We owned a motel in North Wildwood, NJ about 20 years ago. Wildwood is know for it's neon signage and our motel had a real nice one. When we sold the motel it was going to be torn down so we donated the sign to the historical museum. They, in turn, sold it to a restorer, who, in turn sold it to a collector. Believe it or not it is somewhere in Michigan.
Tighten it up til it strips, then back it off a quarter turn

Wanted to drive the car to work today but last night I noticed no brake lights.  Have turn signals and hazards.  All fuses are good.

They are not the quality we learned to expect no matter which box they come out of.

This time I ordered from Summit instead of speedway. Just gets here so much faster and maybe a more quality part.

I would almost bet like cam bearings they all come from the same place. At least with cam bearings they are made in Carson City.

I just ordered this one for myself, mine took too much pressure before the light went on to suit me. https://www.ebay.com/itm/231906160692

My camaro proportioning valve has a sensor with a wire coming off of it . Is this a brake light switch  ?
Might be able to use this as a backup since I have the lever type switch.

I'm sure that is the "trip switch". If both front and rear brake systems are working properly (hydraulic pressure) the switch remains in a neutral position.  If for example one of the brake lines leaked (front or back) the switch would be pushed "out of the neutral position"...and your dash brake light would come on.
