$2.90 wasn't to shabby in '66. But dang, look at those benefits🤯 Can't get that anywhere anymore except for Washington politicions.

Don't even need a high school diploma. Today you need a college degree just to mop the floors.

Most college degrees these days are not as good as a high school diploma was in the 50s.
It was just a summer job so I don't remember what the benefits were but in 1966 I worked in a saw mill and was paid $2.53 1/2 an hour. Think of when 1/2 cent an hour would be a factor. :o
