I don't know of anyone first hand that is running that combo but if you asking if it can be done the answer is yes. I've seen a number of threads on other sites where guys talk about doing it. Here's one example from someone who has done it....
I ran a 70 nova 250-6 in my 48 chevy coupe with a 700R4 trans, it was a 91 camaro trans and the torque converter bolted right up to the 250 flexplate with no problem. I used the Bowler torque converter lockup electronic controller which justs plugs into the trans connector and all you have to do is hook up twelve volts to it through the pedal switch which is included in the kit. The bowler gives you 10 seconds after the trans shifts into fourth gear before it locks up the converter which is nice for a 6 cyl.. I ran a 3:25 rear end which kept the eng at about 1900 rpm with the converter locked up and the six didn't like that rpm range, its runs better at 2100 to 2500 rpm. I also have a 74 nova 250 and it ran a 350 trans with 308 rear gears, which the engine likes that combo. I used my original column with original shift lever, but I had to make a detent plate at the end of the column so I could lock the lever in park and so I could lock out reverse. It would still be wise to put a neutral safety switch in the circuit to.
