Title: What Are You Using For A Horn
Post by: TFoch on June 09, 2014, 08:45:07 PM
Just wondering what guys are using and if they're happy with it.  I need to buy a horn for the 33 and need a compact one I can hide just under the firewall.

Tom
I know a lot of guys who are using motorcycle horns but unfortunately I can't give you a specific brand. They have all sorts of different tones so you'll have to do some research to see what one you like the best but they are definitely the size that you want.

Watch those motorcycle horns, my last shovelhead's factory horn sounded like a Honda 50..went to Autozone and bought a more manly horn!

JULIANAOS on the east coast sell horns.  I got mine from them amny years ago , used and existing bolt hole in frame to mount them with horn opening facing downward.......reason being to stop water getting in.  Horns with water in them sound very weird.

There is a seller on ebay sells the same horns.........see if I can post the picture and link to it.

sellers name is welder-joe and he has 3-5 sets of these on auction on ebay. Runs them all the time.

I have an old ooogah horn I am going to put on my friends delivery, if he doesn't like it he can sell it at a swap meet. I looked at a few auto parts around here and most of there horns sounded like they needed to man up.  BEEP BEEP MOTHER $^&*%#(

Sorry you had a problem, I got an item you could not even make for a dollar from him, I won it for 99 cents, he still shipped and delivered it to me.

Thanks Ed, I've been wanting to go junk yard picking like I used to do when I was a kid.  This will give me an excuse to go.  I'll let you know what I find.

(70's to 80's) Lincoln Conitnental have good horns. A low but intimidating "move it"  kinda sound .
