Getting ready to set up the 34 Master frame I bought. Looking on Speedway all of their 34 Master crossmember kits list them as for "manual" steering. Can a power rack be installed somehow?
Will be looking at a four link rear kit also....anyone use any of the Speedway kits on a 34 Master frame?

Ed, Never used Speedway parts for my 34 Chevrolet Standard Roadster project. As far as a power rack it will not have enough real estate because that was my planed option for my Standard frame setup. I ended up doing an Electric power assist steering and I love it. Makes life easy when in a tight spots with turning.
Call Bob over at Progressive Automotive Frames Ohio and they carry all the 34 Chevrolet Master frame parts your looking for front and rear.
If you would like to Electric power assist part number and name I can give that you in a few days.

I have a Total Cost Involved (TCI) front end. It is a rear steer with a manual rack. I am very happy with it and don't feel I would need power steering.

Thanks RoarsRods & Tom...great info. Tom I was wondering what the rear steer setup looked like...would think the linkage would be easier to route under the headers?

Check out Fatman Fabrications. We have put his front ends under a 33 Chevy Coupe, 34 Chevy Coupe, 35 Chevy Sedan, and 57 Chevy Pickup. We have also used his front clips for a 49 Chevy Pickup, 56 Chevy, and 55 Buick. We have always been pleased and the owner is more than helpful with any issues you may have.

I don't know anything about the Mustang II steering, I'm using a Vega box ::), however, I do like those ram horn headers too.

I used a Heidts in my 38 and the 32 with front steer. Had to modify the front apron to clear the steering box, I would think that power steering would be touchy at highway speeds because of the front end being light.

Bit late but I used a WELDER SERIES MII cross member. These guys got their act together when it comes to street rod stuff that are laser cut. Mine came as flat plate with small tabs holding it together. Just clamp it to a bench, bend it down and there is a perfect gap for welding. Complete instructions on where to notch for YOUR ride height. Visit there web sight for more parts like this.
I used a T-Bird power rack (non-sport), it is cheaper than a MII rack and much happier with the GM pump pressure (read no twitch).
