Back in the early mid 70s, my grandad was out for a visit. Dad had bought a nice orig black 50 merc, and the mice had gotten inside a bit. Dad asked grandpa to sew up new tuck n roll for him. We barrowed a Singer old treadle machine from an older friend of mine. He just got done sewing up new interior for his 56 chevy 2dr htp. Grandpa use to do upholstery work in the late 50s.
Set it up in the garage outback and serveral days later he was almost done. It was getting late in the evening and was on the last door panel when a cat jumped out of the rafters, startled him and he ran his finger under the needle. Right thru his fingernail and broke off. Dad and I took him to the E.R. and an old Doc stuck a flashlight up against his finger to verify needle was there, no X-ray. lol It hadn't quite exited, so Doc made a small slit and got the forcepts in there and pulled it out. He finished door panel the next day with a sore finger and arm from tetnis shot.😁
That was a lot of peddling!
