Title: Outlaw Performance: fiberglass bodys
Post by: sammons on January 16, 2015, 12:05:51 AM
Have any of you fellas been around or bought one of these body's?  My good Friend Tom has been looking into building a hotrod. He doesn't have time to rebuild/replace all that is needed on these old bodies. He will build his own chassis. He wanted a 2dr sedan and was looking at a 30-31 ford fiberglass complete assy body. I found that Outlaw had the 34 chevy 2dr sedan and delivery assembled bodies tonight.

He was looking at my calender and he really liked Senior31's sedan (stance etc). He also liked the look of RH's delivery, so...........he is now thinking chevy panel with the low stance. I told him I would do some research for him to see if they were of good quality.

I have heard good things about there bodies, but with anything fiberglass, or steel you will still have to massage them for fit and finish. They would make my builds a lot easier.

Thanks for the review link Ed, I forwarded it to him. I found about the same positive review on an old hamb thread before the wolves got it closed. :-\

Ghost I sure know about that!  I guy i know brought me his '36 ford Streetbeast body to finish up the fit. Bad gaps/lines and the hood was really messed up. I had to reinforce the underside of the front and rear with 18ga  sheetmetal to get it to lay flat at the ends.DDefinitely wouldn't recommend them unless you had alot of time and patients.

I didn't want to mention the word "streetbeast"...they had a real bad time a few years ago.

Here is an old HAMB thread:
