Title: 33 or 34 frame?
Post by: EDNY on May 29, 2016, 03:20:03 PM
This one is for sale..says it's 33 but it looks like my 34.

BTW: In my opinion the IFS crossmember is mounted to low.

a 1933 master wheelbase is 110"  and a 34 master is 112" wheelbase .
A 1934 Chevrolet standard is 107" wheelbase.

So you have to assume the modifier of the frame put the mustang 2 cross member in the correct location and measure from there.

Looking at the side area of the frame where it curls up over the rear end.  It appears that there is a low area stamped into the side.  I have never seen this before .

Because all the stock cross members except the rear, have been removed, very difficult to identify it other than wheelbase.

33 chev frames are recessed on the rear kick up , rear cross member looks correct , mustang front end welded to low
and by the look  of it  laid way to far back ,axle inclination

The frame in the picture looks just like the one in my 34 Chevy Master, recessed sides etc. The frame in my 33 Master isn't recessed and is flat along the entire length.  Going to pass on this one, it's boxed but that IFS crossmember mounting is a flag for me.

Thanks

Here is the original ad - a bunch of good parts for the money...but as for the frame..I'm not sure about it.
