You tell'em Charlie! ;)
A buddy of mine, Dave and his wife were out one night at a local watering hole next to the livestock sale barn on the edge of Dodge. The place was pretty packed due to the Dodge City Days activities, and a couple fellas came in hat in hand and were looking around for a seat. Dave motioned them over and invited them to sit with them. Dave asked the fellas if they were in town for the Rodeo, as he hadn't seen them there before. Yep, and Dave waved the waitress over and bought them a round. An hour and a half of swaping stories and rounds later... the big guy said he had to go, big day tomorrow. As he stood up he put his hat on, and Dave says " son of a b***h, I thought your voice sounded familiar" Charlie winked and thanked them for the hospitality and left. He was putting on a concert the next night. ;D

Years ago in the Border Patrol we spent several years justifying, planning and building a new Border Patrol station along the Canada/US border. Senator Schumer's office learned of our resulting work and contacted me a couple of weeks before the station was to be officially opened. The representative requested a report on the station, I inquired as to why they needed it and was told that Senator Schumer wanted to prepare a Press Release (to take credit of course). To make a long story short I told the rep that the Senator obviously already had sufficient info to make a release. That's how our Senator works, his staff combs the media and Internet for activities so he can jump in front of the cameras and take ownership of the work.

Did you read the responses? The sickness of liberalism is an epidemic. Liberalism is a religion unto itself. You can not be a Liberal and a true believer of any other religion. Charlie needs to send that kind of letter to the cowardly Republicans in Washington who are not helping the President fulfill the promises that got them elected. The swamp is not just filled with Democrats. The folks who voted for Trump will do it again. I hope he starts singling out some GOP Congressmen for replacement.

Term Limits just like the office of President.

Yep. Oh I am surre there will be stuff the dems and some republicans wont want to come out. But they opened up the box now live with it.

I doubt the swamp will ever vote for term limits and end their lifetime cushy high paying jobs. Besides they could ever earn a living doing any real job so we would just have to support them on welfare and they'd still have a better standard of living than most of us .

You are right on, as a former 33 year federal employee I have seen that first hand (me not included of course ;D). Those politicians enter public service broke and come out millionaires. The vintage Republicans along with vintage Democrats all need to be flushed.

I think most start out honest with good intentions, then after a short time their eyes are opened to the corruption of follow along or out you go. >:( Reminding me of the old 1939 Jimmy Stewart movie "Mr. Smith goes to Washington".

I'm not sure where I am on term limits. If someone is there doing a good job why kick him out for an unknown? Sometimes there just isn't someone better. One of the main problems is that there just are not as many good people as there are tough jobs. :(

The first day of duty at DC the rookie politician is reminded by their party leader that 80-90% of their time should be devoted to raising funds and getting re-elected. We share the remaining 10% with special interest groups :o

There's a saying that goes something like "power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely". I don't believe running for public office was ever intended to be a career, but more of a public service. I think term limits for sure.

It would also be scary if the people in Washington with the most experience in how to "work the Government" were the Bureaucrats and the Lobbyists.
