OK so I decided to get back on my trailer hitch receiver . It's still in the design stage but I have the main 2x2 already cut. I can use the 2 bolts that holds on the bumper and two 1in wide flat bar tied into the spare tire carrier somehow to keep it from twisting.
Not sure if that would be strong enough for towing.
Id like to tie it into the frame somehow but the shackles are in the way.
Have you seen hitches on 32's ??? Or can suggest anything about this.

I seen one on a 32 where the owner took two receivers, the first was mounted behind the rear axle between the frame rails and he took the second one and put it in the first. This way if he wanted to remove the hitch the first receiver would not be seen. He only tows a Mullins trailer.

Although my tank is not in the way. I used an old equalizer hitch I had laying around, and with a little modification to the L brackets on each end I was able to mount it up high between the frame rails on the buick roadster.

I have had a similar idea and when i was taking the broken bumper brackets off I thought that would be a great place to bolt in a spacer bar or a side bar to say a reese hitch.Having thought that i think looking at the hitches that i have available to me that i would have to box at least the last four feet of the frame and if that was so then why not box the whole frame.You see i am at the stage that i have the 32 almost striped down completely so all these ideas could be incorporated before i start the new build,OH talking about a new build i need lower wheel well housing lower 1/4 rockers lower door pieces and lower cowl pieces.and all new lower wood.My god i am going to have to build a car lol lol vette59jdwl
