Bought these light from Speedway  they  are NOT  LEDS.... Instructions  states :Black wire on the light  hooks to  Tail light  wire...White wire on the light  hooks to stop and  turn signal wires  PROBLEM  turn signals on   left or right positions  both light  blink  I  figured  Feeding back on  stop  light wire,,,,Disconnected  stop light wire from both hook up points,  turn lights  work  as they should  any ideas on hooking this up so as to have brake lights  and turn signals

Both your stop and signal lights are controlled by your signal light switch...Sounds like you have something wired wrong coming out of the switch. What kind of switch are you using. If its a stock GM switch they have pretty standard color coding. Refer the the attached diagram. If its aftermarket you'll either have to refer to the manufactures diagram of use an ohm meter to hunt down the correct wires but the principle will be the same. The break light goes to the signal light switch and it then distributes the power to the lights.

using early model Monte Carlo steering column and after market harness,,,at one time had it working correctly  until  I removed rear lights  to primer tail gate and roll pan  today....

Fatn'low, sounds like it might be a ground problem. If it worked before you took them off and primed, it might not be grounding through the new primer,  just a guess.

Re attached  ground wire ..has a good ground using grounding washers to ensure a good ground....still  has same problem  will look at  column  to harness wiring hook ups...I know it's gotta be some thing simple that I over looked...Thanks

3rd brake light wire was ran to the back without thinking I hooked it to the turn signals wires,,,,thought about it a while  and terminated the 3rd  brake light wire at the rear of the cab and cut it loose from the turn wire and discarded the wire,,,,realized turn signals and stop light are on the same wire,,,every thing works as it should....so so simple   got a senior moment.....this is the 6th street rod I've done hope #7 doesn't kick my arse...lol

Took the '40  to the Glass  shop   today   getting closer  to  selling it
