Title: What's in a name?
Post by: EDNY on January 02, 2015, 07:37:53 PM
The federal government, which has "Tomahawk" cruise missiles and
"Apache," "Blackhawk," 'Kiowa" and "Lakota' helicopters - and used
the code name "Geronimo" in the attack that killed Osama bin Laden,
officially objects to the name of the Washington Redskins.

 Really?

Another way the government takes care of the American Indian, they don't want to be called a racist  :(

"Any man who thinks he can be happy and prosperous by letting the government take care of him, better take a closer look at the American Indian”

When is this politically correct b.s.gonna stop?

62131,
Love that quote! Absolutely correct. Having great grandmother's on both sides of the families,  they never got any of the indian benefits (not like it would have amounted to anything anyway) because niether were on the roles.

It's really crazy. None of my 'Native American" friends have a problem with it but they are all western folks and far away from Washington. Funny how so many of us have Cherokee ties. They really got around. So much so that in Tahlequah, Oklahoma there are two lists of the members of the tribe. The second is the Freedman role. It has the names of those who had blood from the freed and run away slaves who took up with the Cherokees. A Blackfoot among the "Civilized" tribes may be a literal description.  :o We're all god's children. :)
