Title: 1934-35 Standard Headlight Bars
Post by: Coley on February 25, 2013, 12:26:06 AM
Am just starting the project of making new headlight bars for the 1934-35 standard cars.

I used to make them and sold them to Outlaw performance, among other dealers.

They were polished stainless or ZA alloy then.  Too expensive for stainless now.

They will be available either primed or chromed.

Started the mold boxes this morning.  I found out that my old molds had survived the fire.
They were made for lost wax investment casting.

Will show a set here when ready.  Probably primed first as the plating takes quite a while.

Been with the same plater for 40 years and we are both getting old.

Here is a couple of pictures of the first LH '35/35 headlamp bar.

Now I have to make the drilling jigs to hold it while I machine it X 2 (RH next).

Looks good. Must take a lot of hand work to remove the flashing and smooth the part out.

Yep, the finish work is labor intensive.
I made the drilling jigs for each end today and have a pair on eBay tonight.

Selling primed only for now, until I get some back from the plater.
