Title: Need help on the '33 Head light bar
Post by: FATnLOW on March 31, 2016, 09:24:27 PM
I was looking a photos of  33 chevys on the net  and I noticed that my  head light bar that attaches to the  grille shell that I am using the bottom hole...photos that I seen on the net shows the bar going thru the top hole... so I went out and tried to use the top hole and  it was impossible to do,  there was a gap on under the end of the bar that attaches to the fender. The gap is  large  enough to get your finger under...  i also tried my other set of bars and same result....any one have any ideas....any difference between a Standard  and a Master head light bar.....at my wits end with this problem, but I want to get it right

Photo shows the passenger side bar on fender no gap....Fit is good  using bottom hole on the shell...

FATnLOW, if you think the top hole is for the headlight bar, what is the bottom hole for? Why not just use the bottom hole?.....Just saying.

Are you sure you have the right headlight bars? 34 truck headlight bars are commonly mistaken as 33 car/
34 truck bars are almost straight across , where the 33 car has a slight kink in them
I'll see if I cant find a pair here to show the difference ,both are about the same length .

That is what I was wondering, if you could have some car and some truck pieces.

Ed, Here's how mine fit.  The top hole is where the headlight bar attaches and the bottom hole is for the wiring.  I agree that you may have either a different year or parts from a truck.

Tom...I see the differences so with that being said, I must have the truck version of the head light bars.  I will try to locate a set, so far no luck. I really didn't see anything wrong with how they mounted and looked on  the car. Chopper  said why not use the bottom hole in essence leave them like they are, and that got me thinking if I can't find a set I will leave them as they are, but modify the large hole to match the small mounting hole ,close off the original small and provide a hole under the arm to run the conduit as it would normally be. Like you said that's what makes it your car..with all the different parts on it from various years
Got to get it done  have only 9  days before it goes to the paint shop.......
