Title: Radiator Stone Guard
Post by: munch on June 06, 2014, 01:29:54 PM
I want to put a stone guard on my 1930 Coach radiator, has anyone had luck making one.  I did get some expanded metal and welded it to the back side of the shell and it looks good, but now I am putting a deeper radiator in and need the clearance.  I would like to make one to mount to the front.

There was a seller on ebay (machine4speed) a couple years back selling a real nice stainless steel screen pattern stock...none listed now.

The grill (honey comb) in my 33 Master is in nice shape but I wouldn't mind someone restoring a 33 use it and I would use the SS screen....if you do come across some..might also be interested.

I would think your best source of something like a stone guard repo'd would be a model a 30-31 ford one which is very similar in shape to a 30--31 Chevrolet......simply re-badge it to chev.

My friend bob has one he is not using as his rad shell is chopped.  Left a message to see if he wants to sell it.

contact me if your interested.

my friend bob sent me the dimensions of his BRAND NEW  stone guard for 30-31 ford which you could modify for your Chevrolet.

He wants $70 + shipping for it.

he supplied a couple of measurements of 19 1/2 across the front at the top.
