Title: 1936 Long RH done
Post by: Coley on February 18, 2017, 11:59:42 PM
Finished the first casting and have it on eBay for $145.00.  They are asking $400 or more for an original.
The only problem with making a new, hard to find part, is that guys that need one will say "Ah that is available now" and instead of buying one, they will look for the other hard to find parts for their project.  It will follow that if they don't sell, there may not be more made.  Such is the parts business.
Thanks for putting up with me.

you should also consider putting a note in the 33--36 Chevrolet section of the VCCA Chat that you have reproduced them.

also take out a word ad in hemmings motor news the Chevrolet section.  Old cars news paper and what ever else is out there where you can advertise you have made them.

I used to make a lot of Chevy parts for the Filling Station and Chevs of the 40s.  The problem with that is they want quantities that I am not able to make because I make other parts for other dealers.  Ebay seems to be the best place for me to sell.
I used to investment cast parts and could make many at a time.  Since the fire 16 years ago, my production is limited.
I used to sell a lot of Chevy parts made in Stainless steel, but that is out now, as all of my tooling was lost.

COLEY , I would not expect a line up to buy these as the 35-36 master series has languished in the "not that popular " in the Chevrolet world.

As the other years get over priced , the demand for the 35-36 chev fat fender models will increase.

There was a time when you could not give away a 1937 1938 ford , until an LA roadster club member ( Orville Elgie ) built a 37 sedan delivery and it got featured on the cover of R & C, the year took off.

Just keep offering them on ebay, they will sell, just takes time.
