Recognize this Holley carb?
« on: January 26, 2014, 10:33:57 PM »
First off  the pictures are terrible....from my cell phone that had the camera lens replaced.

It's a Holley dual feed but I can't find a LIST number...the only numbers located are:

2791
Fuel Bowls 5101
carb body has a casting of "R37"

Can't drop the idle down below 900rpm, it's on my buddies punched out 454, would like to use the carb formula of Cool53, but need to figure out the CFM of it first.

Ed i know the picture is a weeee bit cloudy , But there is something not right about this picture  . It looks like they took the front  bowl and switched it with the back bowl and switched the back bowl with the front bowl so they could have the feed on the  opposite side. Looks to me Like dual feed Holly 650 used on 350's and 454's

Thanks...when I was looking at the car the other day I used a water bottle along the intake gaskets to listen & watch for the water to be sucked in..indicating a vacuum leak. (nothing)

Then I looked at the carb base for loose nuts and said that it didn't look like he had a gasket in there, he said Oh Yes It Does! So I didn't squirt any water at the base of the carb (should have).

He called yesterday and said he ordered carb to manifold gaskets because "he forgot to install one" ;D

hmmmm I bet his idle will drop!

You could use a spray bottle like windex  or you could use  WD-40 around the base of the carb

Can't recognize the carb , but if the bowls were switched, wouldn't the fuel line be on the drivers side?
Because the chock horn is still in front.
Like my car?Build one yourself while you,re still young! Wish I did!
