Better Things To Do
« on: January 17, 2014, 08:08:05 PM »
Been working on the house ..a bath room remodel...ugh..,,, would rather be in the shop, working on old  rusty  metal.
Just  thinking what I needed to, and realized that  in 3 weeks I will be going to the First  Swap Meet of 2014(Sunflower Swap Meet).   In Wichita  Kansas Feb. 7th . So just like a kid, kinda making a list of what I'm needing. Hope the weather holds out the swap meet trip

Well weather did  not hold out...have  6-8 inches of snow on the ground...weather  is at about -5 to -15 wind chill  so trip is off >:( >:(

Oh yeah. We have one about the same time and I need a few items also. Mostly a good pair of late 20s to early 3os front fenders. Wish me luck. Oh I do have an around the house list also.

Priorities ;D  I know what you mean.  Wish I could get a few more weeks of vacation to get things done!

We also have early spring swap meets, living in south central Ky. I'm n the middle of Louisville, KY. and Nashville Tn. which their meets are two weeks apart and I get to double my chances of what I'm looking for.
As far as the honey do list I'm sure we all have them.

I really had planned on working on my 28 this winter, but between all the snow plowing and fixing the broken junk I'm doing it with ,there is no time.I started the shop hot water heater install over 2 weeks ago and its not even close. Then when I do get to do something on it I have forgot how I was going to do it and have to speng an hour figureing it out again. I dont see much getting done on the car untill summer,if even then.

I haven't been able to get the '26 roadster frame in the shop like I wanted but I have been sneaking in some time on components. I am almost done with the conversion of a Pontiac V8 Mallory dual point to a Chevy 4 cylinder. Today I was working on the transmission. I'm putting a T90 top shift on a T86 3 speed OD and building an adapter to fit it to the Chevy bell housing. Also making a side mount for the  original E-brake lever. If I can have all the pieces functioning the build will be easier and more fun. We converted from wood to gas heat this year and it has given me a lot more time and energy.

Didn't get any work done on the 33 this weekend.  My grandson Cameron was born today at 11:18 am.  The future Hot Rodder weighed 8 lbs 12 oz.  Mom and baby are doing fine.  Grand father is extremely proud :)

Congratulations, My first grandson was born Dec.11. Pretty neat thing. I wish he didn't live a day's drive away. I hope there are still real hot rods when they grow up.

Thanks Moose, if it's not done by then I'll give it to him so he can finish it!

Thanks and congrats on your grandson.  This is my second.  My 2 year old granddaughter loves coming out in the garage with me and taking a ride over to my friends hot rod shop.  He lets her sit in any car in the shop and she loves to sit in all of them :)  They are a blast!

CONGRATULATIONS!!! Tom and Sixball. Kids are great! And I am sure grandkids are better, cause they say you can give them back when you are done playing with them. But, my oldest kid is 19 and I hope he thinks with his big head and not his little head  ;)
Again, congratulations guys, to you and your families!!

Hey Tom. You are one lucky man, a boy and a girl grandkids. I guess you better start on a fleet of peddle cars. Oh and make me a few  peddle cars if you have time.

Thanks Ghost & Chopper.  I told my two kids on pedal car stroller per family but I'm sure there will be pressure for one per grandchild and I doubt my granddaughter will want to give her's up.  John if you want a pedal car you'll have to come to New Hampshire to pick it up Ha Ha!
